Nested Polyhedra and the Polyhedron Project

presented by Janice Takagi
December 8, 2016

In this interactive session participants will experience a series of geometry lessons for middle and high school students. These activities take students from the basic construction of nested platonic solids all the way through complex construction of a huge array of polyhedra. Topics such as geometric construction, nets, surface area, volume, similarity, congruency, use of technology, technical writing, and preparing students to complete a complex project at home will be discussed. These lessons have proven successful with all students and can be used in a small class or across the entire math department of a large school.
