Session 7     April 17, 2008
Dr. Paul Zeitz taught Rigged Games for the Mathematics Classroom.

Paul Zeitz is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at the University of San Francisco. He is a co-founder of the Bay Area Math Circle for mathematically talented students. He is an award-winning educator and is the author of The Art and Craft of Problem Solving, and a co-author of Statistical Explorations with Excel.

Dr. Zeitz introduced 7 games that encourage thoughtful problem solving at multiple levels. Participants played each game for a few minutes to get a feel for the nature of each. Winning strategies were revealed and mathematical explanations were presented.
